As a part of the activity of this wing, on the initiative taken by some members, we have started a lecture programme named “CPR Lecture Series”, with the objective of promoting serious discussion among the intelligentsia on socially relevant issues. The inaugural lecture was delivered by Ms. M. C. Borwankar, the then Commissioner of Police, Pune on the topic “Police and the Public, Mutual Responsibilities”, on Saturday, April 16, 2011. On Saturday, June 18, ’11, Mr. S.S.Puri IPS Retd., spoke on “Black Money”. The third lecture in the series has been delivered by Shri Jayant Umranikar, IPS Retd., spoke on the subject, “History of Police in India” on August 20, 2011. The fourth lecture – Oct 22,20111 by Shri R.A. Mashelkar, renowned scientist on ‘ Making Impossible Possible, the fifth lecture – Miss Krushna Patil on Dec. 17, 2011 ‘ I climbed the highest peak, Sixth lecture – Shri Dilip Padgaonkar on Jan. 27 2012 on ‘ Errors we made in Jammu and Kashmir’, seventh lecture on April 21 2012 by Dr. Mrs. Sudha Kankria – ‘ Missing Girl Child’, eighth lecture on June 16, 2012 by Shri Sanjay Kumar, CP Aurangabad LEFT EXTREMIST Movement in India and the ninth lecture was on Oct. 20 2012 by Prof Jain of ILS Law College Pune on ‘ The President of India. The tenth lecture by Lt.Gen (Rtd. ) Shekatakar on ‘1962 Indo Chinese War’ , eleventh lecture on April 20, 2013, by Shri V. Balachandran, IPS (Rtd.) on ‘ Intelligence Failure. May be ! May not be !! and the twelfth lecture was on ‘ Parenting ‘ by Mrs. Jayshree Kirtane on June 15,2013. All the lectures appear to have been well received.

The format we have adopted is to have the “talk”, for thirty minutes followed by interaction with the audience for thirty minutes. We have been organising the programme from 5.45 PM to 7.15 PM preceded by assembling over a cup of tea around 5.30 PM. We have planned to have one lecture once every two months in the evening on a third Saturday.
