During last few decades, it has been noticed that more and more Police personnel are taking to the pen to express themselves in various literary forms such as poetry, fiction work etc. all over the country. So much so that the number of Police personnel getting recognition from august bodies like Sahitya Academy is steadily increasing. It is possible that Police personnel are taking to pen to de-stress themselves from mundane Police work which causes a lot of stress. Since a police person is constantly exposed to a variety of social ills, he gains firsthand experience which probably forces him /her to express himself/herself through literary creation.
To encourage such Police personnel to express themselves through a platform Director General of Police, Maharashtra has kindly consented to organize First Akhil Bhartiya Police Sahitya Sammelan was oraganised on 27th and 28th Feb. 2020 at Centre for Police Research (CPR), Pashan Road, Pune. but due to unavoidable certain reason it is postponed to March 16th and 17th , kindly inform the concern participant’s. It may be mentioned here that on February 25, 2019 first ever State Level Police Sahitya Sammelan was organized in Mumbai. In this event over 200 Police personnel from the state who had literature published to their credit, had participated. Emboldened by this response to a Police Literary Meet, the DGP Maharashtra has consented to organize first Akhil Bhartiya Police Sahitya Sammelan.
To make this first every event of holding All India Police Literary Meet successful it is requested to send upto 5 Police personnel who have established themselves in literature in local language / Hindi/ English to participate in the meet.
